Hi, I just installed an ATI Radeon x300 series PCI-Express card. It boots and the system ignores my motherboard intel graphics card that came with the system. It works fine. Is there any way to manually choose between the main graphics card and the PCI express?

In the bios there should be an option.
Set it to auto.
You probably have to reboot each time for the change to take effect.

Thanks, I searched under the PCI menu and the only three options are PCI, PCI Express, On-Board. If I choose on-board, then my MB crad will boot up?

If you change to onboard only the onboard will probably work.
You will probably have to manually go in the bios each time you want to change video output.
Test it. I may be wrong and it might work for you.

Thank you, I'll try it next week when I get back and confirm.

Just be aware that the X300 will still draw power since it will be idling.

I was actually planning to ask that question next. Is there any risk when having either the PCI-Express or Main graphics card idle?
