SSD's and Antivirus

I don't know anything about how antivirus programs work, but is there any chance scanning a solid state drive will write information on the drive?

I'm thinking about getting a new SSD, but I want to know if installing Ad-aware will have any negative side effects.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi.

Not a problem, works in the same way.
  2. Whether it does or doesn't, you don't have a choice so no reason to sweat about it.
  3. Virus scanning generally consists mostly of reads.
