Laptop replacement build...I have $1500

Forum Systems : New Build Laptop replacement build...I have $1500

Word :    Username :

Last week my ASUS G1S laptop died. Its GPU overheated only a week after the 2-yr warranty expired.
So my plan is to say FU to laptops, and make my own pc. I have $1500, I want to get everything from newegg.

Heres the problem, I have to take this computer to Europe after my summer break. So I need a case that can fit all the components but have no excess space to spare. The other thing is I want something that doesn't break down , so I'd rather have a trustworthy part and pay more. And I don't want too much heat or noise. Thanks.

These are the parts I wan't to squeeze in:
GTX 280 (not sure about heat and noise, but I hope its a lot less than 4870 x2)
Intel Core i7 920
6GB DDR3
1TB SATAII 7200RPM
Power Supply 750W
18X DVD+/-R/RW
Intel X58 motherboard
and a decent case (small as possible)

$1500, oh you can build a beast since you have the monitor.

For small but, reliable - Mid tower Antec 900/CM RC-690.

GPU: 4870x2 or GTX 285

CPU: of course the i7 920

Memory: G.Skills CL:8-8-8-21

HDD: WD Black 640gb/1Tb

Optical: LG DVD 22x or if you have blu-ray in mind. What ever you like.

PSU: 750tx/ 750w PC Power & Cooling for 1 gtx 285, not sure about the 4870x2 - 850tx + for duals.

OS: get what ever is in your liking, you can get the vista 64-bit with the wd black 640gb.

Motherboard: Asus P6t or the Asus P6T deluxe v2 - there both in a combo deal with the i7.

To answer your question, an aftermarket cpu cooler is not necessary with a 2100. For $5...
