hello i have extreme and annoying problems with my firewire and my camera, ok i have a samsung vp-d361 mini dv camera with a firewire 4pin to 6pin cable. im running windows xp sp3 and when i connect it to the port nothing happens, now when i connect it to my other xp sp3 machine it detects it so i know now its not the cable or the camera so im really confused can you guys help me out? thank you

is the firewire port showing up in device manager? maybe you turned it off in the bios ?

do any other firewire devices work?

yeah i hooked an old ipod that was broken and it light up and seemed to work fine
