  1. First fix for any hardware issue is to get the latest drive. I can tell you realtek has drivers on their website for audio/network that are updated constantly.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

    Try that first.
  2. hi,thanks for fast reply.

i had R235 ,the newest one is R236

uninstalled the old one, reboot ,(safe mode) driver sweeper (cleans old or remained driver files ).
    reinstall the newest.reboot.

no luck. it still cracks at those spots.
  3. Does this occur when only audio is playing. Like an mp3
  4. No it doesnt or at least i didnt notice but im 90% sure its not happening while listening to mp3's

im gonna listen to music a hour or two so i can confirm it.

but take my answer : No
  5. I know this sounds standard but make sure you have the latest video card drives and chipset drivers for your motherboard. run dxdiag and see if acceleration is on.
  6. i cant find that the acceleration slider in dxdiag but there are Sound 1 , Sound 2 tabs.

here is a bit of DxDiag i know its gonna be useless but here it is(wall off text incoming,i know i hate them too):

and yes up to date video drivers, as of chipset drivers,i went to manufacturers website and found none for Vista 64bit but i installed the default ones from retail CD.
  7. I played this trailer and it makes this sound on my machine too and I can tell you for a fact that it has never happened before, so maybe its the actual video thats messed up, not your hardware? Im using XP pro btw.
  8. check ts video mate : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOXc2KCYR4o

i get a good couple of crackings here especially in first minute or two.

    are you using ATi card?

    EDIT:Yes you do,checked your profile.
  9. How foolish of me not to even try the videos, on both I do get an occasional pop and crack. Maybe it is the videos?
  10. hmm maybe , but i just noticed it recently. maybe when they upload videos it doesnt come out as it should when youtube process it.

but how about, in a couple of movies i noticed ? maybe bad compression too?
  11. Its definately a possibility, i have few youtube videos in my playlists that get stuck at certain time and you have to push em forward past that point.
  12. that sounds more like connect loss with youtube server to me,and the bufferbar just jumps to the end.

so you have to slide it to resend the info , happend to me while opened more windows to load the vids.
  13. It happens every time i play it in exactly the same moment so i know its busted video not youtube server or my connection.
  14. Ok.

i just copied a movie that cracked at some parts to my laptop to see, and guess what?

the crackling didnt occur even once.

i use xp on my laptop (just sayin') (same codec packs,it does have onboard realtek too)

im leaning towards bad bios settings can that be possible? if so what should i look for?

if anyone have a slightest clue/idea/opinion please drop by and reply.

    thanks!
  15. No idea, but im only talking about the trailer you linked in first post

My main comp - p5q pro with realtek sound(XP) - crackling
Laptop - HP pavillion with Connexant HD Audio(Vista) - crackling
  16. HP compaq at work - SoundMax Audio(XP) - crackling
  17. thanks for your effort mate!

    we are definitely moving onwards.

so its almost clear that that video the first one is badly uploaded.

i ask a question what we share in common graphic card brand/ on board audio.

1.anyway i reinstalled the os and it occurs only for video files that have mpeg 3 (mp3) audio.

2i copied thos to my laptop which have also realtek but not ATi but some integrated intel.

    can this be ATi related?

3.my third opinion that this might be bios related (too bad i dont know what half of the settings do)
  18. No idea mate, I have ati card in my main machine, laptop has nVidia and that POS at work has intels integrated. Perhaps you want to cut a piece of that video and send it to me to check on my machine?
