just curious about sata 6/gbs hard drives. my question is this......my motherboard is the asus m4a77td pro socket am3 now the specs of the board say it has sata 3/gbs and ive noticed that even the newest more expensive boards say the same now is sata 6/gbs going to be used to its full potential on my motherboard or shopuld i just stick with the sata 3/gbs drives.
i have an asrock xtreme board that supports 6/gbs i run win 7 os i upgraded or so i thought to a 6/gbs from a 3/gbs HD thinking it would be faster.well from what i see it not any different , also win 7 performance index give the 6/gbs the same score of 5.9 as my 3/gbs all of my other ratings are 7.5 or higher & i thought the new HD would be better well it seems its not.Dont know if this helps but thought i'd put it out there.
SATA3 (6gb/s) is best utilized by SSD's and high performance RAID arrays.
alrighty yes i plan on having two HD's in a Raid 0 configuration..........and so what your saying is that if the specs of my board state that it has sata3 then im clear to get the 6/gbs drives? thanx for the reply
