How much more of a difference?

In games, how much FPS do you think is between these two cards?

I know these are both pretty low-end cards, please stay on topic.

More about : difference

If it was the 8600 GT and 7600 GT, the performance difference would be minimal (5-10%) with the main difference between the two cards being little things like shader versions and DX 9 vs 10.

However, with the 8600 GT vs a 7600 GS... we're talking about a pretty big performance gap. I'm going to guess 20-35%?

Any reason those are your only choices?, budget? freebie?

Tom's makes this stuff pretty easy to determine with this article each month:

Look down, way down the list and you'll find these two cards are one tier apart. That means you will not notice the difference.

Google "8600GT reviews" and you will find specific FPS numbers in games maybe you still play.

Well, I remember that the 8600GT was a pretty big disappointment because it fell behind the 7900GS it was replacing and it's competitor the 1950GT. Of course it was still faster than the Radeon 2600 most of the time :D . Anyway the 8600GT would be a little slower than the 7900GS, but that's still alot faster than the 7600GS.
