It's working fine, but, does it need its own drivers?

There are no real monitor "drivers".
What it is an .inf that supplies your system with the make, model, and resolutions your monitor can run. Then in your display properties, your monitor is accurately identified (if Windows did not pick it up and identify it correctly on it's own) and only the resolutions your monitor can support will be displayed.

yea, but... every once in a random moment, when i am on the log-on screen after boot-up, it inexpliciably changes from 1440x900 to 800x600 for no reason. I set it back to 1440x900 and it's fine. Next boot up it doesn't do that, and the one after that it doesn't happen... it's random.
