How does this compare? Too easy?

I'm considering building my own computer for the first time, but having been dragged to best buy by my wife I noticed a "clearance" computer out of the corner of my eye:

Alienware Aurora

AMD Phenom X4 9550 (quad core 2.2 ghz)

RADEON 4850 500 mb x2

500 GB HD

4 GB RAM

Windows Vista 64

$750

I'm open to spending more for a PC, but is this too good to be true??

Thanks so much!

(My current beast is an old Dell, which I've upgraded...minor miracle...3.06 ghz, 1 gb, 7800 GT card)

Thanks...I forgot to add that I meant how does this compare to something I'd build myself, and it seems that it's about on target for a lower-end system. I'm worried about the processor, though, you're right.

If you were buying on ex: newegg , you could build something slightly better for the same price. But not by that much.

I would add a good Cooling on this one to OC cause like i said. The CPU need an OC.

I'm leaning toward pulling the trigger on this one, but I have a sneaking suspicion I might need to upgrade the processor. I hear the later generation of Phenoms are oodles better than the 9550 and co.

you could use a 9950 BE later on the road.

We dont know what MOBO hide in there ... it can be a 40$ mobo ... or a 140$ mobo !! who knows ! try to know whats the MOBO in there ... it can really change your mind about this system. And the PSU might be a CHEAPO one ... well open the thing. look if its quality parts before buying cause if its EL CHEAPO parts you can deffenetly build a better system yourself for the same price.
