My Tosh Satlelite Pro P25 was working fine when I bought it a few
weeks ago. Then I decided I didn't want one huge 80gB partition and
used Partition Magic to repartition the drive. Since then, I have
terrible stability problems - spontaneous blue screen crashes and b
lack screen lockups which require battery and power removal to reboot.

I have reinstalled into an 11gB C: partition from the recovery DVD,
but still have the stability problems even if I don't add or remove
any software, just use it for email or surfing or looking at photos.

A friend suggests that there may be a "hidden partition" which is
necessary for the stability of the system. I certainly don't remember
such a thing when repartitioning, but I don't have any other
explanation to offer for the terrible instability.

Does anyone know of such a "hidden partition"?

Do I have to live with a single 80gB partition? I can't believe so.

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Of course not. There may be a hibernation file, but this should be on an
existing partition.

PM seldomly gives problems. If you took all the options like defragmenting
and checking of partitions I think it's best however to reinstall XP and
let it do the partitioning.

Something went wrong when you ran Partition Magic. It SHOULD have
worked the way that you expected. Toshiba usually does not use a hidden
partition, although I'm not famililar with your particular model.
