So I've decided I'm probably going ot get a HD4850X2 1GB, seeing as they are only $285 CAN and performs better than a GTX280 and yet is cheaper than a GTX275... it even outperforms the GTX285 in some cases and is nearly TWO HUNDRED dollars cheaper... but I've heard of driver issues and that the card is really loud?

Have either of these issues been fixed? Would you get the HD4850X2?

If it fits in your case then go for it. The reason it can run loud is that the fans have to work pretty hard to keep the thing cool. If you're case has good ventilation then they should be o.k. You can also adjust the fan speed, but just make sure your card isn't getting too hot. As for driver issues most of them have been resolved. Of course there are some games where crossfire still doesn't work to well, but for the most part it's alot better than it was when the card launched :D.

By the way, I would rather go with two 4850s that have dual slot coolers on them and exhaust heat outside the back of the case. Of course I have a crossfire board :D. If I didn't then yeah I would go with the 4850X2 since that would mean I'd be stuck with a single 3850 in the mean time.

Anyway I'm waiting for DX11 GPUs. Considering that a single 4850 is pretty equivalent or faster than my two 3850s in crossfire, I'm hoping for a mid range DX11 card that is even faster. For now I'm content and I guess we'll see what happens.
