I bought a q9550 and the core temp's differ by about 5 degrees and more when just running normal programs like ocz. Is this normal?

I am using the stock cooler, what is the max fan speed? mine reaches +-2000rpm at max revs.

And when 100% under load it gets up to 70-80 degrees C. thats too hot right?

I have orderd a Coolermaster Centurion CM590 (CM-RC590K)case. Will this make a big diference with this temperature problem? curently using a small case.

I don't have any solid advice, but you may want to revise your current thread title of "1" to something like, "Q9550 Core Temps".

I have a Q8200 and my temps are around 60C. My individual core temps do vary, often by more than 5C from highest to lowest. 70-80C seems hot.

Having a 5 degree variance between two of the cores is normal.
