how do I find my wep key for my Lynksys router

Connect the router to the computer by ethernet cable and log in to the router's user setup screens -- for how see the instructions which came with the router or download the manual.

Once in, go the wireless settings and wireless security. Read the WEP key (or if unreadable set a new one).

If your wireless adapter is not a Linksys product you may be better off copying the HEX code that the passphrase produces -- simply right click on it and save it -- later paste it into your wireless adapter's utilities (or Windows Wireless Networking).

By the way, WPA is a better choice than WEP.
