Hello Tom's Hardware!

What would be the best video card solution with a $300USD pricing constraint. I'm building a PC for a friend and I can never keep up with video card technology. In a nutshell he needs to be able to use 3 monitors for work purposes. So I'm thinking of a SLi configuration. To my understanding you can turn SLi off when not in use and go back to multiple desktops?

Any help or suggestions would be of great help!

If this is for work, and not gaming, then two cheap cards with dual outputs will be fine. You could even go with integrated graphics, and just one add-in card.

If the usage involves gaming, then the cards will need to be much stronger.
