My computer monitor jumps

Since the last two days the display in the monitor began jumping like every five seconds and this is very irritating. I tried scanning for viruses but was told the comp had none.
I would appreciate advise on how to fix this problem.

Move the monitor to a different stop incase there is some interference from another electrical source. Also check the connections.
