Why is my motherboard temperature so high?

I just built my first computer about 3 days ago and for some reason my board temperature is always 90°+ Celcius.

It used to be worse:
CPU: Idling at 60°
GPU: amost 70° (I disconnected it and used the onboard graphics)
Mobo: was about 120°+
I checked in a few different programs like Speed Fan, Core Temp, Sandra and they all read the same. Also checked in the BIOS

I moved a few fans around, changed a few settings and added a fan to my GPU that only had a heat sink (looks ridiculous) and now I have these temps
CPU: Idling at 15°C
GPU: Idling at 40°ish
But the Mobo is still in the higher 90's and hitting 100's easily.

After stress testing and playing games my CPU doesn't get about 35° why does my motherboard get so hot?
I don't want it to die and go back to my Pentium!!

My specs are:
CPU: Athlon II 640
Mobo: msi 785GTM-E45
GPU: GeForce 8500GT
PSU: Antec BP550 Plus
HDD: WC WD10EALS
RAM: 2 1GB DDR2 667MHz

Solution
Could be an error in reporting the temps. It's always a good idea to stay below 90c with the NB.

You could try replacing the heatsink and thermal paste. But you must find which ones are compatible with your mobo.I see your NB has push pins which might make it more difficult to replace.
Try this.
NB Heatsink

Remember it's not a gurantee that all of these will fit your specific mobo.

Cooler Master, I cant remember the exact model. It's ATX size has 2 openings on the sides one big one the back with a 120mm fan and the front is all mesh.

I added one the side running at full power.
Even when I leave my case open it's still above 90°C
It's 65°F in my house right now, everything else in my computer is pretty cool.

What temperatures would you say are recommended?
Also, what do you think I should add or get? everything in my computer seems fine, but the motherboard seems ridiculously hot

I am open to suggestions, I want to get it nice and cool for the summer.

Ya that's what I hoped, but I got the same readings from 3 programs. I just got the motherboard 3 days ago.

It is at 100°C as I type this. I also just felt them with my hand and it didn't feel hot at all. It has a lot of airflow.

I have no idea what's going on. I might buy one of those heat sinks but I want to see if there are any other options before buying anything.

I had the same problem with my MSI board.I think their sensor are just out of whack.Although you've tryed 3 different programs their all going to get the readings from the sensor on the mobo. Those programs don't have their own sensors so it's going to read the same as the mobo reports it.Probably just a bug in their BIOS or something. If it doesn't feel hot to the touch then theirs no need to worry.
