Vpn redial

I can't prevent my vpn connection from automatically trying to reconnect every minute. I have unchecked the reconnect if line is dropped and set redial tries to 0, yet it continues. It did not do this until a month after i set it up when i connected to an internet connection in a new location, but now, where-ever i connect it continues to prompt me to reconnect every minute. Any advice in how to muzzle this monster?

This is exactly what I want to ask as, it is trully depend on which VPN you are using as, sometime you get easily connected with it and sometimes due to some connection error your connection gets affected and it goes to redial 0.
