My graphics card seems to have quit,so i contact cyberpowerpc.com. They wont do a thing for me,they have the worst customer service hands down! They tell me to contact EVGA,they make me fill out an RMA which i do,only to be denied . The card was $490 they wouldn't give me any credit towards the purchase of a new card. I without a doubt would never recommend cyberpowerpc.com to anyone.
Ok so now given what i have for a machine what would you recommend for a new card? Would the 295 be to much? The board will take up to 8 gigs . I'm pretty disgusted at this point!

no one has any help to offer?

If you have the money, yes the 295 is the one to have. As for Cyber power and Evga well, I believe both have a 1 year warranty so as you found out your out of luck with that card. There is one company that offers a lifetime warranty and I can't remeber who it is. Some one who reads this will reply. GL to you

BFG tech offers Lifetime Warranty
XFX also offers lifetime

I just found info on EVGA cards that says they are warrantied for 2 years. Did you over clock this card? That could be why they denied your RMA.

My experience with Cyberpower has been nothing but exceptional. Their customer service has been toop notch on both of the 2 occasions I required their assistance.

The card is a year and a half old, so you may be out of warranty on it, in which case your best bet is to buy a new one. Check your service agreement with CyberpowerPC as well as the manufacturer warranty. That's the best you can do.
If it is any consolation, that card is only worth about $100 today, so you aren't really losing out on $490.

As for the best card to get, that depends on a lot of factors. I have the same question myself in another thread. This may be a good starting point for you...Link to article

Unless you overclocked your Card it should still be under warranty. Their minimum is 2 years depending upon the products. Check this link.

EVGA has a great RMA system BUT it relies on you going to evga's site and registering your card w/in 30 days of its purchase w/o doing that you are pretty much sol when it comes to an RMA. lame but rules is rules lol.

not true one bit, I've used EVGA for multiple RMA's and they are very quick and efficient, as well as all of the cards that I sent in had some dust on them. good try at starting a rumor though. best of all if the card that is covered has a lifetime warranty on it and they do not have any available to replace yours, they basically send you a free upgrade to the next best thing(wont happen all of the time but it is nice when you receive a card in the mail that is better than the one you sent back).

the expirance is different for different people. end of like some may say xfx are bad for RMA, but are they really ?

Well i'm SOL and evga does not warranty the 8800gtx card for 2 years. As for the response time,it did not take them long to deny my RMA so yes they are fast to reply yippy friggen do da. As far as cyber power goes i read a boat load of complaints about them. They dont return phone calls for days or emails if they ever do. They substitute parts without telling consumer . They promise a ship date and wind up being 2 weeks or sometimes a month past promised ship date. By the way these are the complaints that i had personally with cyber power. The 24 hr support is bogus. someone said that the card was worth about $100 bucks so i wasn't out the 490 that i paid. Ummm ok must be the old math.
Does anyone know of a comparable card to the 8800GTX 768 MB. i wouldn't mind doing a SLI if the cards are not going to break the bank?
Sorry if i turned a simple question into a flame thread, i really would just like to get my PC back up and running with the same or better performance then i had .
If anyone looked at what i'm runnning and knows for sure that the 295 will work, i'm not totally opposed to biting the bullet on that. Atleast it will be enough to last me for a long while as long as it does not *** the bed like my last card.

Thanks to all of you for your help!

Stick a pair of 8800GT's or 9800GTX+'s in there.

Verify with EVGA what they can offer. That's quite an expensive card and only 18 months old for them to say too bad buy a new one. If they treating their customers that way, no one will buy EVGA.

I tried with emails with my 8800 GTS 512 died two weeks after warranty but EVGA said too bad with no options for credit and reduced replacement price.

After that, I'm only loyal to XFX with their double lifetime warranties.

That's weird, I was just telling my girlfriend today about how awesome they were (we were extolling the virtues of complaining and I mentioned how they helped me get my rebate when their third party rebate co. screwed me). They've been nothing but great to me.

You got a year and a half of use out of the card. Depreciation on the card makes it worth $100 today. You paid for a card and used it past the warranty date and then it died. What else do you expect? You didn't lose $490 because the card was USED for 18 months. If I used a car for 18 months then brought it back to the dealership I am sure it would not be valued at the price I bought it. Your card died, it is out of warranty, go buy a new one. Parts don't last forever. This is the nature of computer electronics. It happens to all of us at some point.

Get a pair of GTX 275 cards if you want performance at a decent price. You can SLI them in the machine that you have. They are a good match for the rest of your system.
Here is a link to a good one: EVGA GTX 275
A pair of those will cost you about what you paid for the 8800's you had, so I am guessing that is a reasonable budget for you.

eVGA won't RMA cards/components that aren't registered within 30 days of purchase, like someone else mentioned. I found out first-hand with my 8800GTS that I didn't register. Otherwise, I have had capacitors get broken off, coolant spills (while filling) and they always replaced the cards. People bag on RMA's and replacements, but you have to jump through the hoops initially to get them to jump through them when you need your replacement. Otherwise, I'd go digging through dumpsters to pull old cards, swap 'em out and eBay 'em. (jk)

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting the EVGA Customer Service Team.
My name is David Yakinian and I will be answering your question today.

Answer:

Sir we do stand behind our product, that is what the warranty is for. The default warranty on the product is one year. If you register within 30 days we have programs to upgrade the warranty to either 1+1 or limited lifetime depending on the part number. In order to qualify for the extended warranty you do need to register within 30 days. That is stated on the box that registration is required and it does give you information where to find the full terms and conditions of the warranty. The inside flap also states this when you open the box specifically. Unfortunately it is out of warranty at this time. We do not have any sort of repair or out of warranty replacement program, I am sorry. I do not have options for you for any credit. If you have any questions on the warranty please let us know. http://www.evga.com/support/warranty/ Thank you. EVGA Technical Support
