So right now I have a 4800+ x2, 4gb DDR2 800, and an ASUS mobo.

Well I'm having some issues with my PC....like it's dead. So if I can't get it up and running soon I'm upgrading.

So I just stopped by FRYS to check out how local prices are vs newegg.

They are having a special on this mobo, ram and cpu.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor

The Newegg price is $345

The Frys price is $288

Now I know the cpu isn't triple core but still. It's AM3 so I can always upgrade the cpu later.

What do you think?

What's wrong with the stock heatsink and fan?

looks nice.the cpu rocks, but maybe get an FX board, GX is fine if u don't overclock. also, check the timings on the RAM. u dont really need more than 4 GB of ram, so see if u can get faster ram at 1333 Mhz maybe.
