Here is my concern, I was wondering if it would be better to grab 2 4850 at 100$ each or buying a new BFG 8800 GTX OC and putting them in SLI.

For me power saving is important and one of my main bother was the MONSTROUS energy used by 2 8800 GTX OC in SLI.

I am buiding a new system and I only want to game at 1080p since I will use a TV as a monitor. Still, the TV will be 120 Hz.

p.s. : I already own one BFG 8800 GTX OC.

I don't even think it's possible to buy a brand new 8800GTX anymore. I would go with the 4850's in crossfire instead.

Sell the 8800 GTX and buy an overclocked GTX 260. It'll perform better than 2 8800 GTZ or CF 4850.

From Guru3d VGA chartz... you are wrong.

the real question would be two 9800 gtx's or two 4850's and even then the 4850's pull ahead by an inch

Yeah, two of those 8800s would suck up some mad power. Not only that but for the price of a new one, you could pick up two 4850 1GBs which would be a bit faster. If power is an issue for you, then get two 4850 1GBs. I would probably try and pick up another 8800 GTX from eBay or something though :D.

That was my idea... even if it's used for an 100$ it seemed like a fair deal...

Also it's a BFG card...

What to do, what to do...

My built with 2 asus top 4850 would cost in all 1375$ cad... around 1240$ US. (shipping and taxes included)

Seriously, I think I will sell my old Core 2 Duo system with my 8800 GTX in it and start new.

Thanks
