hello

with bus speed that is how cpu ram mother board etc.. get in touch with each other right? correct me if im wrong

now i just wanna know something, would it better to get all components that have the same bus speed, or it really dont matter, the faster the better?

what i mean is for example, core to quad FSB is 1600, now if i get ram that have 1600 bus speed as well, would that be better than having ram with 1800 FSB with that quad core?

also core i7 FSB it says 4.8 GT. what does that mean.

thanks in adavance.

i want details please.

and an answer for the second question as well.

its kinda strange. quads are not really 1600 FSB. I have E8400, its not 1333, its actualy 333 FSB. I run it on 400 FSB, multiply by 9, u get 3.6 Ghz. for the ram, multiply by 2, and u get 800 Mhz. So the one important thing is the board - it has to support 1333 (333) OR 1600 (600) fsb to be able to handle the cpu well.
for the ram, u can set it any fsb:ram ratio u want, aim for higher frequencies, the higher Mhz the better. ( watch for the latencies though).
about i7, i cant help u, i dont really know it.

yesterday i had a loooong pages reading alot of stuff.

its not 1333 its 333 because intel use quad bump it multiplay the front side bus by 4.

so on the box for E8400 it well say that fsb is 1333, actualy its not, its 333 times 4 gives 1333, why is that? to help with the ratio between the ram and cpu bus.

as for the ram it uses double data rate, so ddr3 ram 1600 mhz, are actualy 800 mhz x2

ddr2 ram 800 mhz are 400 x2, it can be over clocked but it well effect the CAS for the ram and so on.

and thanks for your help jimishtar

i just dont know about the core i7 4.8, hoping that someone will tell me what its for.
