Hi,

Ive got a toshiba satellite 3000 which came with a 20Gb 4200RPM hard drive.

Im planning on upgrading and would like to know if the hitachi 7200RPM drive
would work ok.

Or should I just go for a 5200RPM drive?

The faster hdd should work just fine. I have done this upgrade several times and it is a nice
performance upgrade.

Toshiba MK6022GAX - 60GB - 9.5mm - 5400RPM - 16.3MB Buffer

The 16.3MB buffer noticeably increases the speed.
At $158 it is a sensible alternative to the 7200RPM drives.
