Cool Master V8... ram clearance?

Hi guys. To keep it short, I'm running a Zalman CNPS10X Extreme right now and it's fine - just too big. In the normal orientation the fan covers the first RAM slot, so since I upgraded to 4 sticks of RAM (8 gigs) I had to flip the whole heat sink around backwards (blow to the front). To help, I also flipped the rear exhast fan around as an intake (with a dust shield) but basically, this is annoying.

So I'm looking at maybe buying a CM V8, which is only $51 at NCIX

I know that cooling wise it probably won't be much different, but I'll feel better if I can have everything oriented properly.

So is the V8 going to be able to clear RAM on an Asus P7P55D Pro? It seems that with it's design it has great clearance, that's why I'm looking at it.

The other thing is, would there be maybe a better option I'm unaware of? I've been tossing WC around but I don't really have the extra bucks to really get into it, so I think I'd prefer to stick with air right now.

EDIT: Maybe the Spire Thermax Eclipse II?

Hmm. True, V8 isn't looking that good.

I'm actually thinking the Thermalright Archon might be the one to get, it's very slim so it should fit. My stupid motherboard has almost no clearance for the RAM, the first slot is only maybe 5mm away from the bracket screws.

I forget what case you have the Archon is 170 mm tall.
Otherwise the Megahalems and Armgeddon are also very good choices.

Well I've been looking and looking and so many appear to stick out too far and would block the RAM. I really like the Cool Master V6GT, but it's too big I guess. The Archon is close to fitting but they have a warning that with my mobo, it'll actually be so wide it will hit my GPU lol so that's not going to work.

I'm debating just going watercooling at this point.
