Hello im looking for some advice ive come up with 3 builds just need help chosing which one

Prices will be in AUS $ cos im from AUS I Have 1,600 - 1,800 to spend
Want to try and future prof it but wont mind having to replace Ram or board a few months down the track

I dont need a case only need CPU, Motherboard, Ram, GPU, HDD and PSU

PC will be used for:
* Gaming not sure yet due to current system restricting me
*Converting AVI's to DVD
*Adobe Creative suite
*Every day stuff e.g Music, net, word excel

Thinking of running SLI down the track

1. AM3 DDR2 Build
2. AM3 DDR3 Build
3. I7 Build

1. AM3 DDR2 Build. Nvidia 780a SLI or ASUS 980a SLI

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 3.2GHz 8MB Cache (AM3) - Black Edition $369.00

Asus M3N-HT-DELUXE-MP AMD Mainboard - 4x DDR2 / 6x Sata Raid / 1x IDE / Gigabit Lan / Onboard VGA/DVi/HDMI $306.90 http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P [...] templete=2 OR
ASUS Crosshair II Formula (nForce 780a-SLi, DDR2-1066, 3 x PCI-E, SLi, SupremeFX II Audio, LCD Poster, $395.00 http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P [...] templete=2
Or
Asus M4N82 Deluxe http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P [...] templete=2

eVGA GTX 275 896MB, DDR3, 448bit, PCIE, DVI-I, DVI-I, HDTV-7 (896-P3-1170) $423.50
Corsair DDR2 4GB PC-8500/1066 (2x XMS2 2GB) TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF Ram $151.80
Corsair HX-620 620W ATX Modular Power Supply $193.60
Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 7200RPM 32MB SATA 3Gbs $148.50

Sub-Total: $1,593.30 for all without the Crosshair II or M4N82 Deluxe

For extra $94 i can get a Corsair HX-750 ATX Modular Power Supply
For extra $38 i can get a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 32MB SATA 3Gbs

$1,593.30 + 94 + 38 = $1725.30

2. AM3 DDR3 Build
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 3.2GHz 8MB Cache (AM3) - Black Edition $369.00

For the Motherboard id wait for the 980a SLI to come out with DDR3 support i no the 980a SLI is just a renamed 780a
But the 980a supports DDR3

eVGA GTX 275 896MB, DDR3, 448bit, PCIE, DVI-I, DVI-I, HDTV-7 (896-P3-1170) $423.50
Corsair DDR2 4GB PC-8500/1066 (2x XMS2 2GB) TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF Ram $151.80
Corsair HX-620 620W ATX Modular Power Supply $193.60
Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB 7200RPM 32MB SATA 3Gbs $148.50

3. I7 Build

Intel Core i7-920 / 2.66GHz / 8MB Cache / LGA1366 $435.00
eVGA X58 SLI Motherboard 132-BL-E758 $474.34 http://www.evga.com/articles/00438/
eVGA GTX 275 896MB, DDR3, 448bit, PCIE, DVI-I, DVI-I, HDTV-7 (896-P3-1170) $423.50
Corsair DDR3 6GB PC-10600/1333 (3x XMS3 2GB) TR3X6G1333C9 Ram $146.30
Corsair HX-620 620W ATX Modular Power Supply $193.60
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB SATA 3Gbs $121.00

Sub-Total: $1,793.74

Sorry for the Long post

$1793 on a am3 build? not the highest priced peices are the best out there.

You'll only need $900-$1000 on am3/a little less on am2+ and $1200 and up on i7.

Anyone got any advice on which to chose

Is nvidia your only option?

just asking because ATi offerings own the nvidia offerings for less not to mention nvidia chipset's are the worst chipsets you can buy, except the NF200.
