The last time I built my own computer was in grade 10 (I just graduated) so I'm kind of out of the loop of what's out there and what's good now. Here is what I'm looking for in my system.
APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Late june BUDGET RANGE: $800-$1400CAD
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, media server
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, Speakers
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:www.memoryexpress.com please ONLY use this website as it is local so I can pick up the parts myself
PARTS PREFERENCES: NVidia for graphics cards, Intel for processors
OVERCLOCKING: No SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes (If it fits in the price range)
MONITOR RESOLUTION: I play ALL my games at 800x600 no matter what, but my monitors native res is 1280x1024
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I don't want my PC to sound too loud, I would like a at least a 750GB hard drive in it
DVD Drive-
Pick anything lol. Just as long as you don't pay more than 35$ for it.
That will play everything on MAX settings even on 1280x1024. COmes to ~1400$ IT's stretching your budget, but I think you'll be happier with this than with a slower Core 2 Duo. Plus, it is the newest stuff, so easier to upgrade.
