greetings,
i just received my shiny new asus p8p67pro mobo,got to reading the manuals, and am confused what "digi" and "vrm" stand for in regards to overclocking etc. no luck in asus website or google. any help would be greatly appreciated. regards allen
 
Put simply, VRM is the power system for the board. In the old days, the VRM used analog control. This kind of control isn't as exact and can take longer to react to peaks and valleys in power.

Newer boards use digitally-controlled VRM, which reacts much quicker and keeps the CPU and other components supplied with smoother power. Theoretically, this leads to longer service life and (more importantly for us) better overclocking. Whether it actually makes a difference or is just marketing mumbo-jumbo is anyone's guess. We overclockers did just fine with analog control of VRM for many years...

Digi VRM is simply the name ASUS uses for the digitally-controlled VRM on their boards.
