Pc to hook up hdtv

Hello,

I want to hook up pc to hdtv using hdmi. what do i need? Tv has hdmi input and video card has hdmi output. what else do i need to do besides connecting hdmi cable from video card to pc. Please let me know.

I want to build a basic pc just for that. Can you recommend me video card and processor? do i need a good video card and processor to display on 54 in monitor?

All you will need is an HDMI cable. If you want 7.1 channel lossless digital audio to go through your HDMI cable, you will need to get an audio loop cable (a lot of video cards include it) which goes from your SPDIF header on your mobo to a tiny adapter on your video card.

And it is quite convenient having digital audio and video going through one cable.

As far as GPU, are you going to be playing any games?
