I have an older Gateway 700X and I need to upgrade the graphics card to run Adobe CS4, which needs Open GL 2.0 & Shader Model 3.0. I found an ATI card (ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR3 AGP 8X) that will do the trick, but I do not know if my motherboard supports 8X. I think AGP 8X came out in 2002, and I bought my system in Dec.2002. I want to make sure before purchasing. Please advise. Thanks in advance. Bill

I ran cpuz and it detected the MB as D850EMV2 and it also indicated that the max graphics interface is 4x (AGP v 2.0). So, that answered my question. Thanks a ton for the link! Bill
It's likely the 8x card will run on the 4x AGP slot. This is not always the case though. Check the card's specs carefully (4x AGP support).
