EFS Encryption - Access Denied with all permissions

Hello,

Suddenly, without any apparent cause, and without any changes fresh security being made to the file, the system or my login details, an encrypted Excel file became inaccessible: "Access is Denied".

My user account is the administrator one, I have full ownership and all permissions for the file. It should still be seemlessly accessible, i.e. without password.

Encryption details include there being my ID and an encryption certificate thumbprint.

I've spent very many hourse seeking a solution, including online advices, without success.

Has someone found a solution to this issue? Thanks!

Look up tools that de-encrypt Excel files. Provided that the file in question is yours and not stolen, it's completely legal to break into said file.
