For financial reasons I can't make my mind up over the

OCZ Fatality 550 Watt (Modular) Power Supply After MIR = $49.99

vs

Corsair 650 Watt (Non Modular) After MIR : $79.99 (today is last day of sale)

Will be powering:

2x2 GB of DDR2 1066
CDRW/DVD
7200 RPM SATA WD 500GB
Radeon HD 4850
AMD Phenom II X4 955
Asus M4A78 Plus

I plan to play games and etc

The general rule of thumb is a high quality 500 - 550 watt power supply can easily handle a pc system and any single video card made. Based on your list of components you will be okay. Your system does not use very much power. If you do not plan on using mutiple video cards then a high quality psu such as Corsair VX550 watt psu is more than sufficient.

Shop around to find the best possible sale price. If you are in the USA you might want to wait until next week. A lot of the Vendors will be having Labor Day sales.

If you are on a tight budget, then the Antec Eartwatts EA500 would be a good choice. Here's a link to a technical review over at jonnyguru.com:

If you are planning on using two graphic cards in Crossfire mode, then the general rule of thumb is a high quality 700 - 750 watt power supply can easily handle a pc system and just about any two graphics cards made.
