...I can see my HDD in Bios but I can“t start the windows, as I get a message " Hard Drive not connected".
It is a SATA HDD so there is only a jumper for 1,5Gb/s and 3Gb/s option, it is connected as I can hear it spinning.
The HDD was used in my previous PC without any problem. Mobo I am trying to get it working on is Asus P5Q, so far nothing help.
Any ideas from people who solved this kind of an issue?
sorry, but there is not a mention about having the HDD relized in Bios but freezing when startin Windows + on the type of the mobo aj mentioned.
hmm....
OK, if the drive is jumpered for 1.5 (Sata 1) and the new motherboard is Sata 2 go ahead and pull the jumper to start with. Next go into bios under drive control and check the connection mode.
Should see Sata as (ide, achi, raid) recommend you set to ide mode as it appears unlikely you used anything else.
Next there may be a section entitled drive boot priority in the bios, select harddrive as the first boot device.
This is based on the theory you only had one drive previously and that the drive you are using was the boot drive.
There can be difficulties if this drive was installed in a prebuilt with a partition to load default configurations for a proprietary system but that can be overcome.
