Customise option greyed out in taskbar properties

I ran a registry clean-up/defrag program (which I have now deleted) and lost my blue fn key volume controls, the customise option in taskbar properties is greyed out and 'recently opened files' is no longer available in microsoft word - I wish I hadn't done this; how do I restore these functions? MK

Try a system restore to date before you used that "Snakeoil" App.
