I need to recover an HDD

Hey all, I have my bosses 3~ year ish old HDD, its a WD Scorpio 120 Gb SATA 5400 RPM,

It gets BSOD on boot-up, and the vista recovery tool fails.

It runs ok, cause I can format and go to the saved partion of the HDD, but its my bosses, and he needs the data on it.

I have a seagate momentus 500 GB 7200 RPM that i bought for him to replace it with.

So, i would like to know the steps I need to take to get the data off the HDD and onto the new one,

Run diagnostics on your drive. Does it pass?

It's not a good idea to format a drive that has data on it that you want to recover.
