I have selected the: AMD Phenom II X4 945 (95W) Radeon HD 4890 Gigabyte GA-MA77OT-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX motherboard For the life of me I have no idea what memory to us. Please advice. Thank you in advance. -Jay P.S. Also, please comment on the configuration, or advice if you think I can do better.
DDR3 1333. Corsair XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 - $114.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820145218 or Corsair XMS3 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR3 1333 - $64.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820145252 Configuration looks good to me.
Thank you Viper for the advice. I just have one question, is their a reason why you picked the 9-9-9-24 timing? Thank you, -J
Getting better timings increases the price greatly and is largely irrelevant unless you do a lot of overclocking. The different between Cas 7 and Cas 9 in daily use is impossible to perceive. People make far too big of a deal out of timings but it's only really important to overclockers.
Thank you again Viper for your help. I got one more qestion, what do you think about http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product The price is a bit lower thank you again Viper, -Jay
You're welcome. Gigabyte typically offers better quality, compatibility and reliability which is why I recommend them. You pay a little extra for a little extra piece of mind. However, the G.Skill likely will not disappoint you either.
Thank you Viper. G.Skill it is. G.Skill makes two RAMs that will work on the board, which one do you think I should pick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231193 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product They both have good reviews. However I can’t tell what would be the benefit of one over the other. Please help. Thank you again, -Jay
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product You need the 1333 Mhz speed.
thank you viper
