I have a WRT54G2 on DD-WRT firmware. Two computers, Desktop with a gigabit adapter and a laptop with some Atheros adapter that supports 'n'. When I try to get a file from the laptop( which is connected via wireless) on to the desktop, Windows 7 tells me that im at around 1.36~1.40mb/s. I was hoping i could reach at least a 2.0mb/s rate, since the router is 54mbps.

Im thinking that maybe the hard drive of the laptop is slowing things down a bit coz its only a 5400rpm drive. The desktop is using a 7200.12 seagate drive so 7200rpm.

I just wanna get the most of what i have. So do you think everything is fine or something is wrong? Thanks
