it doesnt seem to carry a crossfire or SLI pic often given to a mobo on the webpage

Solution
It supports CrossFire only, but not well. Intel blocks the CPU from supporting two cards when used with that chipset, so the second card is supported by the chipset's PCIe controller instead of the CPU's.

You end up with x16/x4 mode, rather than x8/x8 mode for your two cards, and take a significant performance hit from using an x4 slot.
