Boot from CD/DVD hangs

Hi

I downlaoded and burned windows 7 to a dvd, put my new system together setup the bios.
My problem is that when i try to boot from the dvd it just hangs. I was wondering if anyone knew how i could fix this or if it is just a bad dvd ect.

Any help apreciated.

can you list your specs? As detailed as possible. And you might try making a new DVD, possibly could be bad like you suggested. That would at least eliminate one possibility

If you have more than one optical drive, make sure the disc is in the right one. Trying to burn another disc is a good idea too.

My specs are:

Phenom ii x4 940 BE
Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P
4GB 800mhz patriot memory
Asus EAH4850
OCZ 600w PSU
Lucent pc case
500GB Seagate HDD
Sony 20+- dvd-rw drive

Shall i reload the Fail-safe bios settings and try that?
