  1. Corsair has a reputation for high quality power supplies that are stable and reliable. Corsair consistently earns high marks in technical reviews.

Here's are links to technical reviews of the modular and non-modular versions of the Corsair 850 watt power supplies:

  2. The HX Corsair is a much better unit than the other two. If I were buying an 850 class PS the three I would chose from would be the HX Corsiar the SG Antec or the SeaSonic M12D.
  3. First, here's a link to a good review site:

    http://www.jonnyguru.com/

Because they are somewhat a smallish site, they don't have reviews of every PSU ever made, but have enough to give you clues as to what brands are good.

Second, you started out by asking the wrong question - you should have asked 'for this proposed PC, how much PSU do I really need?'.
  4. Corsair HX850 is one of the best if not the best 850W PSU out there!
  5. In order: Corsair, Antec, Thermaltake.

    Agreed.

I would only go with the thernaltake if it was super-cheap.
