Mouse will not work

mouse and keyboard turn off when powering up to window's xp sign in window. can't move the arrow.what can i do to fix it ?

Are they USB or PS2? Do they work in Safe Mode?

I'm having the same problem. I have tried a new mouse and the windows tab on my keyboard but I can't get past the log in screen. I've tried all the usb ports also. What else can I do?

I am having the same problem with my mouse. I have tried a new mouse and every usb port on the pc. I can't get past the log in screen. Help please ! ! I don't know what safe mode is but I can't get in to see either.
