I recently bought a whole new comp: i5-750, MSI P55-CD53, OCZ PC3-10666( DDR3-1333) , HD4670. The system would not boot up with 2x2gb sticks, so i booted up with 2gb in and found out the DIMM voltage was not enough. The sticks were rated at 1.65v so i upped the voltage to 1.65v from 1.5v. updated to the latest bios. Windows 7 then booted, but kept BSoDing. Now im trying to reinstall with 1 stick in and i cant get windows 7 stable. It just keeps crashing when i launch ie8. cant even get it to work long enuf to dload chrome. Any ideas what mite be going wrong? im frankly out of ideas.
I would try a little more voltage, 1.7, which I think ocz website has these rated for, even 1.75. You could d/l the iso for memtest 4.0 make a bootable cd with it and restart computer boot from cd, nothing else needed and test your memory. Make sure turbo mode is not selected. It sucks when default settings won't let you get going. But some ram modules were made with different hardware in mind, when the default settings were programmed in to it.
