My OCZ PSU makes way too much noise and I would like to change it for the more silent one.

MY current PSU is : OCZ 700W Gamer XStream SLI (OCZ700GXSSLI)
PC Case: Thermaltake Armor VA8000BWS

Im looking for a 700 UP PSU which is so silent during idle or gaming. Best will be that the heat goes out from the back and not from the side of the PSU.

thank you all!

you really don't need a 750w PSU for that, you could get a couple of those graphics cards in SLI and it wouldn't use that all up.

if you want it to be truly silent then get a silverstone nightjar 450w, they cost a lot but are fanless and have 90% efficiency iirc.

so you have 2 8800GT's?

it would help if you said that.

ok, look at the coolermaster 700w silent pro, you might need a couple of molex to PCIe cable's though, and they easily have enough power, their peak is 840w and you can run dual 4890's on the 600w version of the same series.

Go here for resource to build a silent PC:

http://www.silentpcreview.com/section4.html

Go here for a recommendation of quiet PSUs:

http://www.silentpcreview.com/Recommended_PSUs

My Seasonic S12 500w and 550w PSU are both very, very quiet, but not silent. A true silent PSU has no moving parts (no fan). They were on SPCR's recommended list a few years ago. Either one of them can easily power your system.

Your GeForce 8800GT @ stock speed consumes a paltry 78w of power compared to my old X1900XT which consumed 120w of power. It's been upgrade to a HD 5850 which probably consumes about 90w of power (the HD 5870 has been measured to use 108w under typical game conditions). I have 6 drives in my PC, 4 of which are hard drives.

Generally, I recommend Seasonic PSUs above all others. They also make PSU for other brands like Antec, Corsair and PC Power & Cooling. Such as the following:

Antec NeoHE 430
Corsair VX450
Corsair HX520
Corsair HX620
PC Power & Cooling's entire Silencer series
