I'm about to buy a brand-new dual socket 1366 server mobo and i found an intel product that says: "1 PCI Express 2.0 x8 slot (x16 mechanical)"... anyone knows what that means? I just want to make sure that I can fit a normal pci-e x16 graphics card in there, even if it runs @x8...

here's the link to the mobo:

it means that physically it is an x16 slot but only works at x8 because that is how they wired it

so it can accommodate an x16 card but it would run at x8, though it doesn't matter since most cards can't saturate an x8 link anyways
