Hi there:)

I've got an old Acer Aspire 9300 lying around with a burned-out motherboard.
I've been meaning to convert the screen into an actual useable screen (if at all possible).

I have been googling it for the last hour to no avail.
Does anyone have any idea on how to do this?

Thanks in advance :)

Obviously, you'll need to separate your laptop's LCD from the rest of the laptop. After that, you can now find out the LCD model and manufacturer. You'll then need to get a converter card and wire it to the LCD so you can use it with other computers. Pretty complicated stuff no doubt, but I think once you find out the LCD model you can google for info.

I wouldn't think it'll be that easy.........but you could always try. You'll probably have to take the whole laptop apart, but the monitor is probably connected to the motherboard using a propreitary connection.

HI again :) Thanks for your answers, I removed the screen and found out that it's a "Chi Mei N170C2 LO2" screen.

Hi again :)

Just found out who manufactures the Controller Board for my screen.
It's these guys: http://www.spectrah.com/product/lc [...] v_1700.htm

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy from them as a "Private person" and not a company?

Best Regards
