This is my first build and a friend of mine told me he had the same board and showed me the ripjaw series ddr3 memory but the board only takes ddr2...whats the best memory for my board...i'm on a budget

I'm building a system with the 790GX version of that same board. I would suggest a Crucial value DDR2-800 dual channel kit, somewhere around 4GB would be more than sufficient. This is currently selling on Newegg.com for $91.99 +shipping. You could save more money & go with a 2GB DDR2-800 DC kit, which is currently selling @ $48.99.
