Ditch that Rosewill power supply. Rosewills have a habit of turning themselves and half of your PC into a plastic barbeque. Get something from a good name brand like PC Power & Cooling, Corsair, Seasonic or Antec.

I'd grab a Caviar Black over that Caviar SE if you can afford it.

Other than that, it looks like a great build.

Alright I upgraded the Hard drive to the Caviar Black version and chose the Antec EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V power supply.

Looking at the Newegg reviews people are saying that they can't get their 1066 mhz ram to run at 1066 mhz, it just reverts down to 800 mhz and cannot be brought up... should I pay a little more and get a differen't Mobo that can deal with the 1066 ram?

I would say yeah.

You can save some money if you switch the XFX 260 and your RAM for this combo:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.187163

This mobo:

Is a good board from a great brand. It also has the SB750, which is better for overclocking than the SB700 on the board you chose.

The RAM in that combo should be easy to OC to 1066, but you get better performance gains from tightening the timings than from increasing the speed.

The total with my above suggested changes comes to $1,031.41

Unless you are future proffing here im not sure why you are getting a graphics card for 16xx/1xxx monitors? your monitor is simply a 1280x1024 monitor just with 36? more pixels its not the best card to go with imo...i would go with a single 4770 in the first place and later on go with another 4770...this would also allow you to go for a 955 just for the sweet bragging rights and you can probably get to a nice 4ghz...so you get a little better processor and you only have a 100$ in your gpu to begin with...spend another 100$ in the coming months to get an fps boost and after that you can sell those cards and buy into dx11

rewindlabs his monitor is a 1440X900 resoltuion...So he would benefit with the GTX 260...
And a general suggestion...Why not get the 4870 ? The 790X mobo supports crossfire and when games become more demanding, you either have an alternate option of adding one more 4870 in crossfire later or just change the card...As both the GTX 260 and HD 4870 perform very much the same, there is no harm in changing it ...

And dont get OCZ Vista upgrade...they are decent ones but not high rated...
Stick with the DDR2 1066...the AMD CPUs can take advantage of the extra speed...

And save some money going with this ASUS monitor...
It has a resoltuion of 1680 x 1050 in a 19" is pretty impressive

I ended up getting that 19 inch acer...

I was sort of dissapointed with my 4850 im using im this rig now and even know it is about a year old I'm not happy with the ati drivers/aa (for example I loaded up farcry 2 on this rig and put the aa to 16 and ALL the foliage are huge boxes. My buddie with a 8800gt loads up the game puts the aa on 16 and even with the less powerful card gets perfect foliage). But I must admit the drivers are slowly getting better.

Its an 80% chance i wouldnt crossfire because it doesn't give double the performance, so why not just get a better card for more and use the video card on the new rig on this 4850 rig when its time to upgrade it.

If you can find me a nice deal for an ati card id be pretty happy =P

And another question, will a centurion 5 or antec 300 case have enough room for everything im getting?

For the time being ive upgraded to an antec 900 but if I can get some clarification whether my stuff will fit Ill be fine with just the centurion 5/antec 300.

The antec 300 has enough room for those components...And it is better than the Centurion...
But there is also an another option - CM 690...It is as big as the 900 and is cheaper than that...

It all looks pretty nice for the price, good parts overall.
However, you should wait for the new Corsair Case to come out in late June early July, it is really nice looking!

Also, be sure to submit your rig to Rate My Rig once it is done!
