Hi All,

Currently, internal hard disk of my desktop at home runs Windows Server 2003 software. Now I want to take this hard disk with me and use it as a hard disk on my other desktop which has different motherboard and processor (advanced and better config). Is it possible?

I don't want to re-install/repair the OS, as it would call for re-installing all the software present in it. So what is the way out?

Please help me out.

Thank you.

Although practically everyone agrees that you should backup and do clean install, I have tried moving a drive to another computer.

It's worked about 50% of the time. Those are not especially good odds.
