Im trying to get my 3rd video card to work so I can use tri sli. I had all 3 cards installed and the computer was recognizing all 3. I was runing windows xp 32 bit. When I updated the latest drivers (may 6th 2009 nvidia drivers) for some reason it only recognize 2 of the 3 cards, but didnit notice this till maybe a few days to a week later. Around this time I think before the driver update I had installed a pci flexable extender so I could use my sound card, because all 3 cards blocked the pci slots and the on board sound wasnt that great. Even with all those conected it still recognized all 3 cards and the sound card. I was able to get my hands on windows vista home prem 64 bit in hopes that it would fix the problem and could finally use tri sli, but my computer still wont recognize the 3rd card.

In the device manager it only shows 2 of the 3 cards. Ive tried messing around with the hardware, I even uninstalled the drivers before checking all the cards by themselves in different slots, even in pairs of different combos (except when I use the combo of the middle and bottom slot it will only read 1 of them, oddly enough if it uses the top slot and the bottom slot it recognizes both. I even tried adding one at a time, till all 3 were in it. I tried using a old card in the middle slot to see if it would recognized all 3, same problem, still showing only 2 cards in the device manager but oddly it showed the old card on top and 1 of the new cards on bottom. The computer works pefectly fine in 2 way sli.... I tried looking up a any leads in the manual but.... it doesnt say anything about it. Im not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be great.

Have you tried using just one card in the middle slot? The slot itself may be bad.

Also, I am not familiar with the XFX bios. I would check it to see if there is a setting to enable 3 way SLI.

Yes I have tried using one card in the middle slot, and it worked perfectly fine. I havent found a seting in the bios that points to sli in any way or from yet....

At this point I'm lost. Have you checked the MSFT web site? Check to see that you have all the latest updates for your Vista 64.

How about a bios update for you MOBO. Check the Manufactures web site for an update. There might be something in there for 64bit support.

The mobo has the latest bio drivers. I checked on the site but they didnt say if the supported 64 bit.

Hi ghost_shell

I'm facing the same problem, I think it isn't a driver problem because when I put the vgas on 2 and 3 slots, the vga of 3rd slot don't start the display, It's occur much before windows can load any driver. I think it's a BIOS problem. Try to reinstall the old bios version.
