With the 2600K your pretty much guaranteed 4.4ghz. Some get 4.8ghz.

With just the 2600, I think your limited somewhere around 3.9ghz.

Yes you need P67 to overclock.

I've read of some unlucky sob's that could only get to 4.2GHz on the 2600k. I think I'd cry... :(

You can overclock the Turbo speed by +400MHz (limited overclocking) with an i7 2600 on that board.

The stock clock is 3.4GHz...
-with four cores loaded it Turbos to 3.5GHz
-with three cores loaded it Turbos to 3.6GHz
-with two cores loaded it Turbos to 3.7GHz
-with one core loaded it Turbos to 3.8GHz

After limited overclocking...
-with four cores loaded it Turbos to 3.9GHz
-with three cores loaded it Turbos to 4.0GHz
-with two cores loaded it Turbos to 4.1GHz
-with one core loaded it Turbos to 4.2GHz

I'm assuming there is a way to change the Turbo multipliers in the program. I've never used a program to overclock the CPU, so I don't know for sure.

I only use the UEFI/BIOS to overclock the CPU, and the option is definitely in there.
