Recently I bought a new PC with Intel i5 CPU and Kingston HyperX DDR3@2000Mhz. The first thing that I checked was a temperature of CPU which were in idle 50-60°C. In load, it
was about 95°C, when system was shut down to prevent damage. Also in Everest (and in BIOS), the CPU core speed was 4000Mhz which is overclock by 50%. Then I went to BIOS and I loaded it to system defaults. Now the temperatures of CPU newer goes above 30°C, BUT RAM frequency now is 1333Mhz in all possible tests, even in BIOS. Do you have any idea how to use my ddr3@2000 that I paid for a lot more than I could pay for ddr3@1333. Is there any way to raise RAM frequency to factory speed without damagng my CPU????

There should be an Ehanced memory selection available in the bios for setting the memory above system defaults. Extreme memory profile which reads the chips and sets as high as system will recognize without overclocking.
Don't know that you can get up to 2000mhz without overclocking but at least 1666 hopfully

What motherboard do you have? The options are different depending on the motherboard and BIOS.

What settings did you use to get the RAM to run at 2000? CPU and RAM both use independent multipliers x bclk. By default bclck is 133 so the CPU runs at 20x133 = 2.66GHz and the RAM runs at 10x133 = 1333. It sounds like you upped your bclk to 200. Is that right?

Do you have an aftermarket heatsink? That could be a good investment for what you are trying to do.

How much/high do you want to OC your CPU?
