Tinny ringing sound from Supreme X-Fi with Rampage extreme

I have a rampage 2 extreme and the sound card that comes packaged with it has never really worked correctly. About half the time after a restart the sound will have a tinny, ringing effect to it. Please advise

Sounds like electronic noise to me. Could be a number of things. Could be that your PSU isn't great and is giving off alot of electronic noise. It could be that something like a molex cable is running to close to or touching the card. It could be that the CD in cable, the SPDIF cable, or the front microphone cable is running over power cables and thus picking up the noise. Your board could have defects and thus could also be the source of the noise. You're gonna have to eliminate those things one by one.
